IMD extended a red alert for parts of Delhi until 2:25 pm Thursday amid heavy rain, while Gurugram police advised offices to permit work from home. The alert covers Northeast, Central, Southeast, South, New Delhi and Shahdara, with very heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning forecast. Gurugram and Faridabad are under a yellow alert for light rainfall, prompting the work-from-home advisory. Police said reduced traffic would aid management and ensure emergency services access. "We strongly urge corporate and private establishments to extend work-from-home facility for today," said PRO Sandeep Turan.
