Hyundai's Georgia Metaplant has begun producing a hybrid Kia Sportage, expanding its manufacturing to three models. The plant near Savannah is slated to produce over ten different models. This marks the second model produced at the facility, following the electric Genesis GV70. The plant, which opened in October 2024, aims for flexibility in its production lines. The Metaplant is Hyundai Motor Group's largest U.S. investment. It is designed to produce a range of electric and hybrid vehicles for the North American market.
