Hungary has begun legal preparations to challenge an EU ban on Russian energy imports in the European Court of Justice. Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that Budapest will immediately appeal the decision once it is finalized, calling it a politically motivated move threatening Hungary's energy security. The EU reached a preliminary agreement to phase out Russian gas imports by the end of 2027, with a legislative proposal for a full oil import ban expected next year.
