Happy family life may help preteens sleep better, according to a new study. Children with strong family relationships tend to sleep longer. Researchers found that children with involved parents and those who shared family meals slept longer. The study analyzed data from nearly 5,000 children aged 9-11 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study, to be presented at the American Academy of Sleep Medicine meeting, also noted that children who used screens for socializing slept less. The AASM recommends children aged 6-12 sleep 9-12 hours.
