France tightens unemployment benefit duration for consensual departures

France's National Assembly has approved a reform tightening unemployment benefit duration for consensual departures. The new rules, effective soon, reduce maximum unemployment payouts for those under 55 to 15 months and for those 55 and older to 20.5 months. This reform, expected to save up to 800 million euros, stems from an agreement between employers and three unions.
