Foundation managing community centers faces fraud investigation, subsidy halted

A foundation managing two community centers is suspected of fraud, leading to the immediate halt of all planned subsidies by the municipality. The Public Prosecution Service informed the municipality of suspicions in June, prompting an initial suspension of payments. Police investigation suggests subsidy funds may not have been spent appropriately. The foundation, established in 2015 to support vulnerable women and children, received €3.7 million in subsidies for projects extending to 2030. They have six weeks to appeal the decision.
