Footballer Amy Carr's brain tumor misdiagnosed as arachnophobia leaves her speaking French after surgery

Professional footballer Amy Carr initially fainted after seeing a spider, but doctors later discovered a golf-ball-sized brain tumor. This misdiagnosis delayed her treatment, which included surgery that left her temporarily speaking French. After surgery, Amy faced extensive recovery, including radiotherapy and chemotherapy. She experienced significant changes in her coordination and personality but now works as a healthy lifestyle specialist and goalkeeping coach. Recently, Amy raised over £2,000 for Brain Tumour Research by completing the Dublin Marathon. She continues to be monitored with regular scans and aims to support others facing similar challenges.
