Egypt's new law won't abolish high school system
The new education law proposal in Egypt will not eliminate the existing high school system, according to the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. The government aims to reform the education system and alleviate pressure on students and families. The proposed law introduces an optional and free "Egyptian Baccalaureate" system, equivalent to the current high school system, alongside it. This system allows students to choose subjects based on their interests and retake exams. The minister emphasized the law's goal of improving education quality, reducing reliance on private tutoring, and aligning with global educational standards. The law also addresses vocational training and aims to provide diverse educational pathways.
