Dodgers place pitcher Eric Lauer on injured list with elbow inflammation

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Eric Lauer was placed on the injured list Wednesday with left elbow inflammation, following a rough outing Tuesday where he allowed seven runs and eight hits in three innings of a 13-8 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. Lauer, who is 7-2 with a 4.50 ERA in 14 games this season, said he felt good warming up but "lost it" during the game, without mentioning a possible injury. The Dodgers acquired him from Toronto on May 17, and he posted a 6.69 ERA with the Blue Jays before the trade. To make room on the 40-man roster, reliever Will Klein was moved to the 60-day injured list. Blake Treinen returned from his own elbow injury, posting a 0.00 ERA in seven rehab appearances, and holds a 3.52 ERA in 29 games for Los Angeles this season.
