Delhi's Pink Sahayee Card rollout hits chaos as women face long waits, rude staff
Delhi's mandatory Pink Sahayee Card process for women's free bus travel, effective October 1, has descended into chaos, with women reporting rude behavior from officials. Long queues formed at bus depots from 9 am, but server outages and missing OTPs forced many to return home empty-handed after hours of waiting. At depots in Shahdara, Hasanpur, and Nand Nagari, women endured harsh sunlight while waiting. Some claimed officials spoke abusively when questioned about delays. Many women had left young children, school, or sick husbands at home, compounding their frustration and anger over the disorganized system. Under the new rules, the card is mandatory for Delhi resident women to travel free, while women from other states must purchase tickets. Most applicants left disappointed after daylong waits, highlighting systemic failures and poor staff conduct.
