Delhi CM launches automated vehicle testing station, adds 50 e-buses to fleet

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the capital’s second automated vehicle testing station at Tehkhand Depot and flagged off 50 new electric buses on Thursday, advancing clean mobility efforts. The new buses bring Delhi’s total fleet to 6,850, with 5,088 being electric, and feature panic buttons and CCTV cameras for passenger safety. The testing station has an annual capacity of 70,000 vehicles, following an earlier facility at Nand Nagri. Gupta highlighted the transport department’s ‘4S model’—Safety, Sustainability, Seamless connectivity, and Smart infrastructure—and noted two new charging stations at Hassanpur and Gazipur depots, with more support planned under the EV Policy.
