Chrome installs Gemini Nano AI model on user devices

Google Chrome has silently installed a 4GB AI model, Gemini Nano, on eligible desktop devices without user consent. Google states the model will uninstall if resources are insufficient and that users can disable it in Chrome settings. The company began offering this option in February.
