Big Fresno Fair brings back rodeo after 30 years, replacing horse racing

The Big Fresno Fair has reintroduced rodeo events after a 30-year absence, replacing canceled live horse racing. Top riders and livestock are competing for a $100,000 purse. This marks the first rodeo in three decades at the fairgrounds, which previously hosted over 120 years of horse racing. Over 60 competitors from across the U.S. are participating in various rodeo disciplines. While live horse racing is no longer featured, attendees can still place bets on races from other locations. The rodeo continues on Saturday with events scheduled in the afternoon.
