Big Bear's bald eagle pair, Jackie and Shadow, have completed their clutch of three eggs. Jackie laid her final egg on January 28, marking the second consecutive year they have had three eggs. The incubation process has begun, with "pip watch" set to start on March 1. The eggs typically hatch 38 to 39 days after being laid, but it may take longer this year due to the three-egg clutch. Friends of Big Bear Valley operates two webcams to monitor the nest. The organization noted that Jackie and Shadow's body heat helps keep the eggs warm during incubation.
