Bengaluru PSU contract workers protest labor code July 9

Thousands of contract workers in Bengaluru's public sector undertakings will participate in a nationwide protest on Wednesday, potentially causing staff shortages. The protest, organized by the Govt and Public Sector Non-Permanent Workers Joint Forum, targets the central government's new labor code, which workers believe weakens job security. The demonstration will involve workers from HAL, BEML, BEL, and other PSUs, with approximately 23,000 affected in Bengaluru. Workers are demanding the regularization of Group C and D roles, a minimum wage increase, and changes to the ESI Act.
