Bangsamoro chief retains six Cabinet officials

Bangsamoro Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua will retain six regional Cabinet officials after initially ordering their resignations as part of a government cleansing. He cited their competence and adherence to moral governance as the reasons. The retained officials include ministers of Environment, Finance, Health, Labor, Social Services, and Science and Technology. Macacua's decision followed complaints of corruption, delayed salaries, and payment issues within the Bangsamoro government. The move comes as the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao prepares for its first parliamentary elections in October. The directive for resignations affected over 40 officials.
