Aurora pedestrian hit by RTD train at Peoria Station

An Aurora pedestrian was struck by an RTD A Line train at Peoria Station on Wednesday morning. The individual was trespassing on the tracks as the train approached. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was hit just after 7:30 a.m. Paramedics transported the person to the hospital with unknown injuries. No one on the train was harmed. RTD stated that crossing areas were closed for the incoming train, making the pedestrian's presence illegal trespassing. Train service resumed by 8:45 a.m. after a temporary bus shuttle.
