Atlético-MG ends H2bet sponsorship after Brazil betting ban
Brazilian football club Atlético-MG has ended its master sponsorship agreement with betting company H2bet, following a federal provisional measure banning sports betting operations and advertising in the country. The government's Provisional Measure No. 1.394, effective since late September, prohibits the operation, offering, and publicity of fixed-odds betting, including sports betting and online games. New bettor deposits are banned, with users having until October 5 to withdraw funds voluntarily. Betting sites and apps must go offline from October 6, and existing authorizations are revoked without compensation rights. H2bet announced the partnership's termination on Saturday, thanking the club and its fans in a farewell statement.
