Arsenic-laced Christmas cake linked to three deaths in Brazil as daughter-in-law arrested
Three relatives died after eating a Christmas cake laced with arsenic. The victims were Tatiana Denize Silva dos Anjos, Maida Berenice Flores da Silva, and Neuza Denize Silva dos Anjos. Their deaths, along with the earlier death of Paolo Luiz, are now linked to suspected foul play. Deise Moura, the daughter-in-law of one of the victims, was arrested in connection with the suspected murders. Investigators found high levels of arsenic in the cake and in the bodies of those who consumed it. Moura maintains her innocence amid family tensions. Authorities are examining the relationship between Moura and Zeli Dos Anjos, the widow of Paolo Luiz. Initial phone analyses revealed searches related to arsenic. Moura is scheduled for a custody hearing on January 13.
