Amazon India adds 160,000 seasonal jobs for festive season

Amazon India will hire up to 160,000 temporary workers for the festive season, a 10,000 increase from last year, to handle expected consumer demand. The new hires will support picking, packing, shipping, and delivery across 400 cities, including metros and Tier 2 and 3 locations. The company emphasizes inclusivity, having already trained women and associates with disabilities for these roles. The expanded workforce aims to strengthen logistics, with Amazon citing its 15-state fulfillment network and nearly 2,000 delivery stations. Many workers may continue beyond the festive period or return in subsequent years.
