Águas de Portugal cyberattack leaves website down, water supply safe
Portuguese water utility Águas de Portugal confirmed a cyberattack, but assured that water supply, sanitation, and quality are not compromised. The company is working to restore affected services. The attack, identified last Friday, has kept the company's website offline and disrupted client contact channels. The Judicial Police and the National Cybersecurity Centre are investigating the incident, which targeted the group's information systems and caused temporary administrative disruptions. The email service was among affected systems, while phone support and physical stores operate normally. This attack follows recent cyber incidents at the University of Aveiro, Metro Mondego, and CCDR Algarve, with systems being gradually restored.
