Ace Combat 8 peaks at 52,000 Steam players, tripling Ace Combat 7's record

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve peaked at over 52,000 concurrent Steam players on October 3rd, tripling Ace Combat 7's record and marking a major success for Bandai Namco. Reviews praising mission design and the solo campaign have driven the surge, though a 74 percent rating reflects criticisms of performance issues and a pre-order bonus requiring the main game. The franchise's PC growth is notable given its PlayStation roots, with prior entries peaking at 3,795 and 13,758 players. Multiplayer opinions remain mixed, and optimization patches could attract more players.
