What is News Minimalist?

It's the only news aggregator that ranks news by significance.

It uses AI (ChatGPT) to read and analyze ~30,000 news articles every day and give them a significance score from 0 to 10.

Articles rated 0-3 usually cover sports, entertainment, and small local news. Articles with rating 5+ cover significant world events that shape the world.

To give a global perspective, the news is collected in 12 most spoken languages.

Why?

I wanted to have this for myself — a system that would filter out the everyday noise and only keep the minimal number of news actually worth reading.

It turned out many others want this too.

This is easily the best use of GPT I've yet seen, because you're using it to limit the mountains of sensationalist attention-seeking stuff out there, instead of adding to it.

How to read?

The easiest way is to subscribe to the newsletter below — I send about 2-3 emails per week with the most significant news collected since the last update (usually ~10 major news stories per week). Over 10,000 subscribers get their significant news this way. If you'd like to get it too:

Alternatively, you can make a personal feed. It lets you set filters like "tech news with significance over 4, covered by at least 3 sources". Pick categories and countries, block keywords and get it in your inbox or via RSS. See demos here.
